Worship Arts Community
Leader: Adam Barta
What Is Worship?
At Life Church we believe that worship is an inward reality and praise is an outward response to the inner-workings of God in our life. It’s a daily choice that we make and a lifestyle, not just a song that we sing. We were created to know and worship our God–to have a meaningful relationship with our Creator, and worship is the primary way that we engage in relationship and connection with Him. That’s why worship is the foundation upon which our mission as a church is realized. We also place a high value of importance on prayer in the individual life of a follower of Jesus as well as the practice of coming together to pray with one another in agreement and power, according to the example, instruction, desire, and admonition of Jesus regarding prayer in Scripture.
The worship ministry of Life Church is committed to the cause of putting Jesus on display through musicians, singers, and artists for the glory of God, the inspiration of the church, and the transformation of our city. At its core, our worship ministry exists to help people encounter Jesus in new and fresh ways, to see the creativity of God unleashed in a people passionately pursuing Him, and to provide avenues and opportunities for the further growth and development of Life Church’s worship culture.
Psalm 33:3 is our ministry philosophy: “Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully [on the strings] with a loud and joyful sound.” (AMP) We are a multicultural, multigenerational community of worshipping artists who value excellence, spontaneity, expression, and joy in both our personal and congregational pursuit of Jesus.
How Do I Get Involved?
Singers and Musicians
Do you sing or play an instrument? We are always looking for people to join our band. All musicians and vocalists are placed on a rotating schedule for all of our weekend experience.
There are many opportunities to be involved with Technical Arts at Life Church. Some of the areas include: lighting, sound, video production, and media. Some previous experience is preferred but not required and training will be provided for anyone willing to learn or better their skills. All tech team members are placed on a rotating schedule for our weekend experience.
Since we’re all about relationship, everything we do starts from and flows from relationship. If you would like to get involved, please reach out to Pastor Adam and he will get you started by first getting to know you and second, allowing an opportunity to present your musical or technical gifts for consideration of placement on our team. At the very least, we would love for you to join our worship community by attending our Worship Arts Gatherings (WAG) held throughout the year on a quarterly basis.
