Sunday, August 25th • 9:00 AM - Noon
The Good Neighbor Project is an annual event where we take a Sunday morning to leave our communities better than we found them. We believe that Jesus cares as deeply as we do about our communities; because of that, we want to roll up our sleeves and help where needed.
This year, we will serve our Beaverton and Hillsboro ODHS Child Welfare offices with room refresh and makeover projects, assembling welcome boxes for kids, and writing encouraging notes to staff. We will also host lunch at Life Church from 12-2 PM for all the churches involved in the Good Neighbor Project.
There are 4 areas where you can choose to serve.
Hillsboro ODHS Office: Paint rooms, install wall decals, assemble picnic table, sand & stain bench, hang outdoor shade sail, sanitize toys and outdoor play sets, organize/assemble new toys, organize library, organize donated clothing, and the sleeping room refresh.
Assemble welcome boxes and write encouraging cards (at Life Church): Welcome boxes are for kids and youth when they are placed in a new foster home. Encouraging cards are for the staff at the Child Welfare offices.
Lunch prep and set-up (at Life Church): Help cook, prep & serve lunch for all volunteers, set-up tables & chairs, and popup tents for lunch.
Host Team (at Life Church): Team Members would be in place to welcome those unaware it was GNP and invite them back for the next week. They would also welcome and direct other teams as they came for lunch.
In addition to serving, you can help by donating needed items or purchase from our Amazon List.
